Roman Catholic Church, Driffield, East Riding of Yorkshire

From the beginning of August 2026 Fr David White stood down as Parish Priest of Driffield on retiring from pastoral office in the Diocese.

Canon David Grant has been asked by the Bishop to become Priest in charge at Our Lady & St Edwards while remaining as Parish Priest in Beverley.

Beverley and Driffield remain as two separate parishes but served by one priest.

Fr David White, though retired, will continue to live in the presbytery in Driffield and assist with celebrating the Sacraments in the Parish.

Driffield Capital of the Wolds

Driffield is a market town in the Yorkshire Wolds in the East Riding of our great county. Known as the Capital of the Wolds, Driffield is situated around twenty-three miles from the City of York in the west and thirteen miles from the East Coast resort of Bridlington. So, the parish serves the town and the large rural population of the surrounding villages as well as the many visitors to the region in the summer months. Part of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Middlesbrough, the church was consecrated in 1886.
